This quarter, I read the book, The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. This book is about a girl named Macy. Just last year, Macy's father died of a heart attack. She quit track and hasn't been her same, happy self. This summer, all that Macy plans to do is work at the library and study of SATs. But, expectantly, Macy runs into a job at Wish Catering Business. The chaos and uncertainty of Wish lets Macy start to be herself, instead of the child who seems totally fine after her father died. Macy's summer will be totally different then her last summer.
This book had many good parts. I thought that the plot and the characters were very well developed. Also, it was a page turner. There was never a part of it that I wanted to put it down or stop reading it. Lastly, Sarah Dessen wrote this book very well, and it seems like I am there.
Although the plot was very well developed, it was a little bit predictable. It's not like you know exactly want is going to happen, but it follows the same story line of most romance novels. Also, a few parts of the novel seemed random. It sometimes seemed like they were just trying to fit information in. It seemed random in the space that the information was given in, but it made sense later on in the book.
Over all this book was really good, but not every one would like it. I would say that this book is a book that is just for girls. It is about a girl and involves stuff that a boy would not enjoy reading. It also has romance in it, so if you like that kind of stuff in it you would like it. If you like nonfiction books you would also like this book. I would rate this book a 3/4.
