The Worst Christmas Present (That I Can Remember!)

Whoosh! A blast of cold, icy air hit me as I departed from the bus. Pulling my hood up, I started my short walk home. As I approached my house, I noticed an obscure package on my front porch. I sprinted past the last three houses to my porch and examined the box. The tiny writing read: From Granny and Gran. Yes! I thought as I jumped up and down, Christmas presents! I flung opened the door and heaved the heavy box onto the coach before running into the kitchen for scissors. I jammed the scissors into the box and tried to remove tape like any other 11-year-old would. I shoved my hands into the sea of peanuts that was in the box until I hit something hard. I fished the package out and looked at the name on it. Nelson Disappointed that it wasn't for me I tossed on the coach. I stuck my hand in again hoping to find my package in the box. I struck cardboard and pulled out a box. L.J I knew mine was in there somewhere and I thrust my hand into the box one last time until I found a minuscule box at the bottom with my name neatly printed on it.
I was about to tear my precious package open, when my brothers walked in and quickly opened their presents. "Yes!" They both shouted with joy, " Exactly what we wanted." Suddenly, my heart started beating out-of-control and I thought to myself, If they got what they wanted will I. I pictured in my head the shiny, silver charm bracelet that I had told my grandma I wanted. I ripped off the wrapping paper and saw a white jewelry box. I slowly opened the lid, expecting to see a charm bracelet. I started to see purple, and confused I thought, I didn't know they made charms that color. But, as I finished unveiling my present, I saw not a charm bracelet, but a hideous Finding Nemo watch. Does my grandma think I'm a two-year-old? I wondered, filled with disappointment. The ugly watch was a ghastly shade of purple with pre-school-like fish popping off of it. The fish were all different colors. The watched looked like it was straight out of Toys R' Us. The only thing I was happy about at this moment was that she wasn't here so I wouldn't have to lie to her face.
